Cornices for homes built around the turn of the last century – classic details

Cornices for homes built around the turn of the last century – classic detailsThis medium cornice moulding features ornamental details and pleasing proportions. It is reminiscent of the beautiful stucco work that once adorned drawing rooms, bedrooms and hallways in well-kept properties dating back to around 1900.

This moulding is great for renovation projects aimed at preserving or recreating period interiors. Thanks to its medium-sized profile, this model is versatile and easy to use in different spaces, from 19th or early 20th century town-house flats to vintage villas from this period.

Here we can see a classic acanthus leaf pattern – a motif that dates right back to ancient Greece and Rome. This design had a resurgence during the Renaissance and featured particularly prominently in the Neoclassical period of the 18th and 19th centuries, when acanthus leaf shapes were often used in mouldings for both interiors and exteriors.

This product is from our Premium Selection. It is made of polyurethane, a material resistant to both impact and moisture, which makes it versatile and durable. The unadorned surface brings out the finer details and is suitable for both wet areas and outdoor environments.

In many period properties, the original mouldings have unfortunately been lost through previous renovations. With this carefully crafted cornice, you can bring that authentic character back into the space.

Suitable for:

  • Town houses from the turn of the last century
  • Manor houses and villas from the late 19th and early 20th centuries
  • Renovating period properties where original features have been lost
  • Rooms with high ceilings where classic details take centre stage
